I haven't written a blog in a while, but as Remember Ministries recently passed our second anniversary, it is time for some updates!
We were so blessed this summer to have had good friends offer to host a Remember Ministries Picnic at their beautiful farmhouse property. Many of our partners and supporters gathered together, enjoying delicious food, fellowship and the scenic surroundings.
Together we remembered:
what God has done among us in the past two years
the suffering of our persecuted brothers and sisters
the plight of refugees everywhere
the hope that is ours because of Jesus Christ and his work of redemption on the cross
the amazing truth that we are invited to participate with God in His Kingdom work, and that by loving one another in practical ways, we are displaying the risen Saviour to the world!
As founder and director of Remember Ministries, I want to praise God for all that He has done. Out of places of prayer and intercession, through small steps of faith and in community with many others, we have witnessed God at work. He has brought together refugees in great need with cosponsors and donors and communities that have opened up their hearts to love them and welcome them to Canada. How amazing to see!
We have sponsored 48 refugees so far, and have sponsorships for 22 more in process now. That represents 21 families from countries in Africa, the Middle East and Asia. Only God can do so much, in times such as these.
We acknowledge the Triune God, who is filled with compassion and hears the cries of the oppressed and downtrodden, and moves on their behalf. His love is unfailing.
As members of the Body of Christ, we continue to remember those are outcast from the world and unwanted by so many countries, and we commit to continue working to show love to them in practical ways, such as refugee sponsorship. We do this because we also were once outcast and Jesus came after us, embraced us and drew us into His family.
"Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another...We love because he first loved us." 1 John 4:11,19
